In most instances your primary care physician will write you a referral to come to therapy. If you are seeking treatment at our facility for anything other than therapy or are not being referred by a physician, please contact our office and we will be happy to discuss setting you up for an appointment that meets your needs.
Your first appointment will be scheduled for an hour. We call this the “initial evaluation.” During this appointment you will have the opportunity to sit down with your therapist and discuss the reason you are coming in, you and your therapist will decide on a plan of care and you will receive some treatment during this time.
For the first appointment please expect to be in clinic for a full hour. For subsequent appointments you will be scheduled for a half hour time slot. Though we schedule on the half hour, please expect to be in clinic for 30-45 minutes depending on your reason for treatment.
If you will be using insurance, coverage varies by insurance carrier and is plan specific. We will be happy to verify your benefits before your appointment so you will know what to expect as far as treatment cost per visit. Though we verify your coverage for you, we do recommend that you contact your insurance carrier for benefit details. If you will be paying out of pocket without insurance, rates vary by treatment options; please contact our office for detailed information.
Wear something comfortable, something that will allow the therapist to treat the affected area. Often times you will spend some time warming up on a treadmill or stationary bike prior to treatment by your therapist. For example: If you are coming in for a treatment on your leg, shorts might be the best option; if you are coming in for an arm treatment, a t-shirt may be the most comfortable. There isn’t a specific dress code as long as you are comfortable.
The number of visits you come in for therapy is discussed during your initial evaluation. The evaluation by the therapist, the Dr. referral, insurance limitations, and your availability are all taken into account when determining a plan of care to best fit your needs. Generally 2 -3 times a week is average for our patient care.
